Seattle Cop Punches Teenager In Face

I try to give officers the benefit of the doubt when it comes to brutality issues. If I had to deal with some of these unruly, disrespectful teenagers,I would be on the news every night.
Headlines would read,
"Short Cocky Officer Chops Another Citizen In The Throat,This Time For Running A Red Light".
See,I KNOW I ain't wrapped too tight,so there's no need for me to be in any kind of law enforcement.
Here's what happened:
This officer saw a guy jaywalking.....JAYWALKING and called him over to the car. While citing the guy for jaywalking,he saw four girls doing the same thing. When he asked them to step over to the car, they began cussing him out. When he attempted to arrest one of them(girl in video)her cousin got involved and that's when the officer went Floyd Mayweather on her.
Having friends who are police officers,I know first-hand what they have to deal with. There is a lack of respect and when there's a lack of respect, you have people acting the way these two model citizens were acting. But STILL,there was NO excuse for this. He should have called back up or SOMETHING.......I don't know. But I DO know,a white officer can't punch a black girl,in the face,in broad daylight with cameras and cell phones present and expect this thing to be resolved with an apology.

Cue Al Sharpton,a march,a lawsuit and nationwide attention on police brutality in
5....4.....3.....2....1 ! ! ! ! ! !

I'm with Rev.Al on this one.

  1. Yes, the cop was wrong but she was swinging on a cop! Even when he was simply trying to restrain her, she would still act aggressively towards him. When it goes before his supervisors that is what they will see. I'm more upset with the idiots with the cameras recording instead of calling for help.

  2. LOL @ Mod... 5..4..3..2..1 Al Sharpton.
Yes it was a bit much for the office to punch her in the face. I am quite sure there are protocols on how to handle individual who are resisting arrest. He should have used his better judgment and called for back up.
It seems that he may be a bit clueless or he may not even care that there are people are recording this fiasco.

@ Treva, yes the supervisors will see the young ladies being aggressive, but on the other hand, could there have been another way of the officer to handle this situation?

  3. So sad that some people don't respect authority. They were both wrong in this situation. I'm sure he's been trained on how to refrain from doing things like this.

...but when you're pushed to the edge, anything can and will happen. Like I said, they were both wrong.
