Chad Ochocinco:The Ultimate Catch (For White Women)

Oh boy........here we go again. Black women being upset about black men who(only)date white women is getting a little old, don't you think? This time it's Chad Ochocinco. Chad has a show where he will choose "the love of his life" from a group of women. If I'm correct,it was originally a group of 85 women but only 3 of them were black.Of course the black women were eliminated in the first round, leaving Chad with only white women to choose from. Well, once again,"some" black women are besides themselves. They "can't stand it when a man gets money and only dates white women." Ladies, get over it,OK? This argument or outrage you display when you see a black man with a white woman is sooooo 1990ish. I've said it before and I'll say it again, If it ain't YOUR man dating a white woman,it shouldn't concern you!!!!! It really makes you look small, insecure and bitter. And before you ask,NO I don't date white women. But it drives me crazy how some black women will go ballistic when they see a black man with a white woman.
For the record,Chad has a son with a black woman. Does THAT make you feel better!?

Ladies & Gentlemen,Rep. Anthony Weiner!

After Republicans voted NO(because of procedural concerns)on a bill that would provide free healthcare to those affected by the attacks on 9/11,N.Y. Rep. Anthony Weiner went off!

SURPRISE! SURPRISE! Black Folks Don't Watch Fox -For Real

Only 1% huh? My question is,what's wrong with the 1%? I can't understand why ANYONE black or white would watch this network but especially anyone of color. Yes,I know we are all different. I know that black people aren't monolithic. I know all of that, but still,I'm curious to know what is it about this channel that keeps the 1% watching. Is it the constant theme of how President Obama hates white people? Is it the constant barrage of lies Glenn Beck feeds to his gulliable sheep? What is it? If you're part of the 1% I would love to hear from you.

I Miss Old School Hip Hop

*random*
I was just sitting here flipping through the channels thinking about how much I miss old school hip hop. I long for the days I could turn on the television and see videos like

or
(check out the dancer in the background at 1:34 in the video) Dude is JAMMING!

Unfortunately those days are long gone. I don't listen to much hip hop anymore. It seems like everybody is ALWAYS talking about sex,sex and ummm.....let's see,oh yeah......SEX.
Can someone start an all old school channel? You can call it.....I don't know,Channel Old School.,yeah, that's it. There needs to be something for old heads like me who crave to hear music from the good ol days.
That's all!
*spoken like a man who sees the big 4-0(40) around the corner!

Black Women & Breast Implants

So I was in the barber shop last week and the topic of black women getting breast implants came up. The conversation was VERY interesting,so much so that I had to bring it to The Board Room. The reason the topic came up is because there was a woman who brought her son in the barbershop to get him a haircut. One of the guys said,"Dang girl, you gaining weight"....SMH.......(that's another blog for another day). But she said,"No,I just got some implants." That's when things went WAYYYYYY left. The woman got so upset that she took her son and went elsewhere. After she left,we had a HEATED discussion about breast implants.
One thing became VERY clear. "Some" black men don't like black women with breast implants. Some said those women suffer from low self esteem. Others said they are trying to be like white women.I'm not sure if I agree with either of those statements.I know a few women who have implants and none of them fall into that catagory. But I DEFINITELY see the point the men were making. Most of those men and I think most black men prefer a black woman whose body is all natural. I mean, what's wrong with working with what you got? Even though what you got might not be a lot. Just curious, hope I get some feedback on this one.
*Before some of you hit my inbox or send me text messages, please understand,I'm not knocking it. It's your body and you're free to do as you please. But why do you think some women get them? Do you think it's self esteem issues?

Five Things I Learned From The Shirley Sherrod Ordeal

1.I learned this administration is gutless when it comes to addressing issues of race.
2. I learned this adminstration is spineless when it comes to confronting the modern day Ku Klux Klan disguised as a cable news channel.
3.I learned this administration is the most disloyal administration that have ever set foot in the White House.
4.I learned (already knew)the NAACP is irrelevant in 2010.
5.I learned (already knew)Keith Olbermann and Rachel Maddow are the best thing going on television right now.

Point 1
Whenever there is ANYTHING that appears to be race related, this White House cower in a corner. Instead of addressing racists/racism and calling it what it is,they would rather sweep it under the rug or make it go away.
Point 2
Shirley Sherrod was asked to pull over on the side of the road and submit her resignation ASAP via blackberry.
Why,the rush!?
BECAUSE THE WHITE HOUSE FOUND OUT GLENN BECK WOULD BE FEATURING HER "RACIST" VIDEO ON HIS SHOW!!!!!!
-Do you think George W. Bush gave a damn about what CNN,MSNBC or ANYBODY for that matter, said about him?
Point 3
They didn't even give this woman a chance to explain that the video was taken out of context, they wanted her fired. Ms. Sherrod campaigned and supported Obama but she didn't receive the benefit of the doubt. Guess I should have seen it coming, look at how they turned on Van Jones, ACORN and other people who were fighting on their behalf.
Point 4
Ben Jealous,President of the NAACP was one of the very first people to throw her under the bus. He later issued an apology saying he had been "snookered" by Fox News. Since when did the President of the NAACP rely on the modern day Ku Klux Klan (dba FOX "News") to get accurate information? The NAACP is about as relevant in 2010 as a pay phone. Last week they passed a resolution stating the tea party movement has "elements" of racism. That's like a bunch of meteorlogists getting together and passing a resolution stating the sun will come out one day next week.
TELL ME SOMETHING I DON'T KNOW!
#5
The main stream media is a joke. The only two people willing to speak the truth are Keith Olbermann and Rachel Maddow. Sure they both can be over the top at times but at least they aren't afraid to speak their mind and call a spade a spade

Here's an example of what I mean:

If you have followed this blog for any length of time you know I am (was) one of this President's biggest supporters. But I am tired of this tip-toe,play it nice, let's not offend anyone, can we all get along mentality. Enough already!

Idris Elba Hosts HBCU Students On South African Tour

Saw this over on blackvoices.com

-Actor Idris Elba recently returned from hosting 21 students from Historically Black Colleges and Universities on an excursion to South Africa for Coca-Cola's first "Open Happiness Tour."

"This was a life-changing and moving experience for me," Elba told BV Buzz. "I've been to Africa a couple of times since my father was from Ghana and mother Sierra Leone, but this was one of the most moving and powerful trips I've ever had."

The HBCU students hosted by the star of films like 'Obsessed' and 'Daddy's Little Girls' were selected after participating in a video competition to describe how they were inspired by the Coca-Cola RAIN program – Coca-Cola's 'Water for Schools"campaign for schoolchildren in Africa and around the world.

As a part of their trip to South Africa, the students attended a FIFA World Cup game, toured the Nelson Mandela National Museum, visited the Constitutional Court Building (the prison where Nelson Mandela was locked up) and went on a safari.

While all of the experiences were great, Elba said one of the most moving aspects of the trip was the group's visit to a local grade school in Soweto, where the students performed an impromptu talent show for the students as a display of love.

"Watching the students grow in awareness and seeing how much we take for granted was so refreshing and an honor for me to be a part of their experience. Thanks to Coca-Cola, we now have 21 new leaders who will make a difference in our world," added the actor, who stars next in the movie 'Takers.'

Coca-Cola intends to make its Open Happiness Tour an annual event moving forward.-

Great stuff bro!

Hate Inc.

These two men have amassed a fortune at the expense of Barack Obama. They drive their hate machines all the way to the bank. Last year,Beck made $32 million and Limbaugh made close to $44 million. Why,because a certain segment of people in this country can't stomach the fact that a man who isn't the same color as they are, resides in the White House with his family. Don't be fooled by Republicans,Tea Party people and the likes when they say,"We just disagree with his policies". Sure, and I think Sarah Palin is a Rhodes Scholar. Millions of guillable people tune in everyday to hear Limbaugh says things like,"If Barack Obama wasn't black, he would be a tour guide in Hawaii". Beck is no better, last week,he said,"The President is sympathetic to the New Black Panther's Party hate speech",part of his continuing theme to show that the President "hates white people" therefore must be stopped. These things aren't just randomly said. They are calculated to fuel the hatred that these two and Fox "News" purposedly promotes. I've said it before and I'll say it again, these two along with other Right-Wing talk shows are PURPOSEDLY creating a violent atmosphere towards the President with their hate speech. Sad thing about it is, the people who follow them aren't uneducated people (for the most part). Many of them own companies or are in a position to make decisions that affect the lives of others(and people wonder why Black unemployment is so high). Many of the people who listen to these two have intentionally laid off black employees as a means of revenge for supporting the President. Sure we should pray for these two and others, but we should also fight back by spreading the truth, voicing our disagreements and creating our own wealth.

The Board Room Jam Of The Week

Can We Officially Stop With The LeBron/Jordan Comparisons?

Look at this picture.........LOOK AT IT!!!!! Does that not look weird to you? It does to me! It makes LeBron look like a role player,a second fiddle. It doesn't make him look like the second coming of Jordan. I'm excited to see LeBron join Wade and Bosh in Miami. I think they will win more than a few rings over the next couple of years. But I always thought LeBron would go down as the greatest player to ever play the game. I don't feel that way anymore. Sure,he will be one of the all time greats but leaving Cleveland to go join D.Wade's team to get a ring just doesn't sit right with me. Sure his owner is on crack. Sure he didn't have the pieces in place to win.But does anyone remember what some of those early Chicago Bulls teams looked like? Did Jordan say,"You know what, I want to win a championship so I'm going to Detroit"? NO,he made the owners bring in a new coach,a new GM and he continued to take his lumps while HIS team developed into champions.I know we live in a different time,a different era. I know they don't make basketball players like they used to. But I wish some of these young cats would study the old school. The competitive spirit in those guys simply wouldn't allow them to leave and join soneone else's team to get a championship. Not while in their mid 20s. Again,I hope LeBron gets all the rings he wants, but can we officially stop with the Jordan comparisons? Jordan allowed the rings to come to him,he didn't go to the rings.

Breast Cancer & African-American Men

Saw this article over on Blackdr.org and thought I would share.

(BlackDoctor.org) – In 1993, Richard Roundtree, better known as John Shaft in the iconic 1971 African American film "Shaft,” was diagnosed with breast cancer. While in the shower one morning, getting ready for work, Roundtree felt a lump in his chest underneath his nipple and began to worry. After visiting his doctor he was diagnosed with the rare male disease and would then undergo a radical mastectomy and months of grueling chemotherapy treatments, all while hiding his condition from the public.

Breast cancer is most commonly thought of as a woman's disease, but male breast cancer does occur. It comprises only 1 percent of all breast cancer cases -- not a surprising figure, since men's bodies contain only about 1 percent of the breast tissue found in women. In 2007, there will be about 2,000 men diagnosed with breast cancer, compared with 178,000 women identified with the disease.

The cancer forms in the breast tissue of men, and is most common in older men, though male breast cancer can occur at any age. Men diagnosed at an early stage have a good chance for a cure. Still, many men delay seeing their doctors if they notice unusual signs or symptoms, such as a breast lump. For this reason, many male breast cancers are diagnosed when the disease is more advanced. Like breast cancer in women, treatment depends upon the stage of the cancer and the overall physical condition of the patient. The most common initial treatment is surgery -- a modified radical mastectomy (removal of the breast, lining over the chest muscles, and portions of the axillary lymph nodes) -- and sometimes portions of the muscles of the chest wall are also removed.

Following are the symptoms and risks associated with the disease:

Signs and symptoms of male breast cancer

• A painless lump or thickening in the breast tissue
• Changes to the skin covering your breast, such as dimpling, puckering, redness or scaling
• Changes to your nipple, such as redness, scaling or a nipple that turns inward
• Discharge from your nipple

When to see a doctor

Make an appointment with your doctor if you have any persistent signs or symptoms that worry you. It's not clear what causes male breast cancer. Doctors know that male breast cancer occurs when some breast cells begin growing abnormally. These cells divide more rapidly than healthy cells do. The accumulating cells form a tumor that may spread (metastasize) to nearby tissue, to the lymph nodes or to other parts of the body.

Where breast cancer begins in men

Everyone is born with a small amount of breast tissue. Breast tissue is made up of milk-producing glands called lobules, ducts that carry milk to the nipples and fat. Women begin developing more breast tissue during puberty and men do not. Because they are born with a small amount of breast tissue, men can develop breast cancer.

Types of breast cancer diagnosed in men

• Cancer that begins in the milk ducts. Ductal carcinoma is the most common type of male breast cancer. Nearly all male breast cancers begin in the breast ducts.
• Cancer that begins in the milk-producing glands. Lobular carcinoma is rare in men because men have few lobules in their breast tissue.
• Cancer that spreads to the nipple. In some cases, breast cancer can form in the breast ducts and spread to the nipple, causing crusty, scaly skin around the nipple. This is called Paget's disease of the nipple.

Inherited genes that increase breast cancer risk

Some men inherit mutated genes from their parents that increase the risk of breast cancer. Mutations in one of several genes, especially a gene called BRCA2, put you at greater risk of developing breast and prostate cancers. Usually these genes help prevent cancer by making proteins that keep cells from growing abnormally. But if they have a mutation, the genes aren't as effective at protecting you from cancer.
Meeting with a genetic counselor and undergoing genetic testing can determine whether you carry gene mutations that increase your risk of breast cancer. Discuss the benefits and risks of genetic testing with your doctor.

Risk factors that increase the risk of male breast cancer

• Older age. Breast cancer is most common in men age 60 to 70.
• Excessive use of alcohol. If you drink heavy amounts of alcohol, you have a greater risk of breast cancer.
• Exposure to estrogen. If you take estrogen-related drugs, such as those used as part of a sex change procedure, your risk of breast cancer is increased. Estrogen drugs may also be used in hormone therapy for prostate cancer.
• Family history of breast cancer. If you have a close family member with breast cancer, you have a greater chance of developing the disease.
• Klinefelter's syndrome. This genetic syndrome occurs when a boy is born with more than one copy of the X chromosome. Klinefelter's syndrome causes abnormal development of the testicles. As a result, men with this syndrome produce lower levels of certain male hormones — androgens — and more female hormones — estrogens.
• Liver disease. If you have liver disease, such as cirrhosis of the liver, your body's male hormones may be reduced and its female hormones may be increased. This can increase your risk of breast cancer.
• Obesity. Obesity may be a risk factor for breast cancer in men, because it increases the number of fat cells in the body. Fat cells convert androgens into estrogen, which may increase the amount of estrogen in your body and, therefore, your risk of breast cancer.
• Radiation exposure. If you've received radiation treatments to your chest, such as those used to treat cancers in the chest, you're more likely to develop breast cancer later in life.

The "Black Church" Is The Reason Black Women Are Single & Lonely"-SERIOUSLY!?

Before you read this blog, please check out the article on The Board Room facebook fan page.

Confession: I originally was going to post a long rant about this article. But after I finished,I looked at what I wrote and realized,an article like this isn't worth wasting energy to blog about. Don't get me wrong, I think this article is VERY disrespectful to me as a man and as a Christian, but I recognize, this is not my battle! It sounds like somebody had a VERY bad church experience. The person who wrote this article is as much of a relationship expert as I am a hair stylist. Her willingness to blame the "Black Church" would be funny if it wasn't so utterly ridiculous, and also if there weren't so many women who agreed with her. I'm willing to bet many of those women were single and lonely WAYYYYYY before they stepped foot inside anybody's church. Maybe they should do some soul searching and figure out what is it about them that keeps attracting "no good men".
In my opinion, she's using the "black women can't find a good man" card as an opportunity to take a swipe at Christians. That's the "in thing" to do nowadays, talk about "The Cheating Preacher" or "Why The Preacher Gotta Drive THAT Kind Of Car?" or my favorite "Pimps In The Pulpit". There recently was a time when I would get upset and debate people on this issue all day long. But I now recognize this battle is not mines. So for those of you who requested I blog about this article, thanks for the request but I'll pass on the debate(for now). Actually, this is nothing new,I see it everyday! People make remarks about how "the black church" is only concerned about becoming megas-churches and they don't do anything in the black community.....WHATEVA!!!!! People like this author won't comment on the "mega-church" who feeds 1,000 families or does a free gas giveaway for hundreds of people. They won't comment on the money that is raised to buy school supplies for kids going back to school or the all night Relay For Life campaign to raise money to help fight cancer. They won't comment on the church who donates money to help their members avoid foreclosure on their homes or pay their child's college tution. No,they would rather focus on this type of superficial stupid "stuff" instead. So,no this battle is not mines, therefore I will remain on the sideline "for now".

Sorry to disappoint!

What If The White Militias And Tea Party People Were Black?

Read an interesting article by Courtland Malloy in the Washington Post last week. The title was "What If The White Militias Were Black?" That's an interesting question and the article hit home on so many different levels, but I want to take it a step farther and ask a few more questions.
-What if the Tea Party was made up of predominately black people who showed up at events with pictures of President Bush in Klan uniforms like they show up with pictures of President Obama dressed as a witch doctor?
Would we be portrayed as "patriotic Americans" exercising our First Amendment rights?
-Would we be portrayed as "concerned citizens" if a poor little black lady showed up at a town hall meeting crying "I want my country back"?
-Would the national media blow it off as exercising our Second Amendment rights if members of a Black Militia show up 1000ft. of President Bush with semi automatic rifles?
-What do you think would happen if Massachusetts Govenor Duval Patrick stood in front of the Massachusetts Tea Party "Patriots" and said his state should consider succeeding from the Union because people in Washington don't represent them anymore?
Would the national media cover it for one day then sweep it under the rug ignoring the underlying message in that statement?
-What if black people started waving the Red,Black and Green flag like the Tea Party people wave that stupid "Don't Tread On Me" flag?
Would we be told to "go back to Africa"?

Just food for thought!

Anyway,if you get a chance,check out Mr.Malloy's article.
Oh and can some of my fellow bloggers PLEASE tell me how to add the link tab to my blog posts. Thanks!

Otis Mathis Is Back In The News

Back in March,I told you about Otis Mathis, the Detroit School Board President who admitted he couldn't write. The blog wasn't an effort to make fun of Mr.Mathis illiteracy, but to highlight the failure of the Education system in this country to put competent people in positions of leadership. Well,Mr. Mathis is back in the news again and unfortunately the news isn't good this time either. Last month,Mr. Mathis was arrested for "fondling himself" during a meeting with District Superintendent Teresa Gueyser. Mathis, who resigned June 17,wrote to the board that he “made inappropriate actions toward a professional employee” and regretted his actions.
As jacked up(no pun intended) as this situation is,here's MY question. Why was he allowed to keep his job after admitting that he was illiterate back in March? Doesn't this send the wrong message to kids? Sure,he should have a right to make a living but as a School Board President? I don't think so!

Meet Damon Evans

Allow me to introduce you to Damon Evans. Evans played football at UGA from 1988-92. He worked his way up in the UGA athletic department and in 2004,at the age of 34 was named Athletic Director at the University of Georgia. His hiring made him the youngest and first African American AD of a major university in the SEC. As AD he is in charge of an $84 million budget. He was named one of the 10 most influential minorites in all of sports. The ultra conservative folks in Athens love Evans and his wife. They along with their two young kids are the perfect family. What a great example for the kids of Georgia, both black and white of what could happen when you work hard and do things the right way. Mr. Evans, who had a salary of $410,000 has done such a great job at UGA,that he was scheduled to sign a new contract on July 1st(oh,that's today)and get a raise of $140,000 which would make him one of the highest paid ADs in the SEC at $550,000.
Then came reports of Evans being arrested for DUI while driving his 2009 750Li BMW last night in Atlanta. There was also a female passenger arrested for disorderly conduct. You know me,you know the first thing came to my mind,"Someone wants to make sure he doesn't get that fat new contract". I'm not a conspiracy theorist by no means but I must admit something didn't sound right. Surely, this man who has everything going for him wouldn't get behind the wheel and drink and drive? Nooooo, not Damon Evans, who has been doing PSAs to curb drinking and driving after football games in Athens? Surely this was all a big misunderstanding. That was my thinking until I saw THIS:

Yep,that's your boy looking like I used to look leaving Vegas Nights in 2005.
"Whatch'all know bout dat Vegas Nights on a hot summer Saturday night in da "A",Shawty?"

And YEP,that's the passenger who was arrested for disorderly conduct.

I know, some of you are asking,"What's the big deal? Maybe he and his wife were just having a night out on the town." Well, that was a possiblity except for one small thing:
THIS IS HIS WIFE!!!!!!!!

Nooooo.......not the white woman,the sista!!!!!

*LETTING OUT A BIG SIGH*
Ok,listen!!!!!
If you're black, driving a BMW in downtown Atl,chances are people won't pay you any attention. But if you're black, the AD at a school like UGA,easily recognized wherever you go,AND you got a white woman in the car? Chances are, you're going to get noticed. And if you've been drinking, chances are, you're going to jail. And if you have a wife at home, who has to put up with the embarrassment of you getting a DUI,possibly losing that fat contract AND you had a 28 year old WHITE woman in the car(no offense to my white family, but the sistas go OFF when they see a brotha with a white woman) buddy, you are in more trouble than you will ever know!!!!! I guarantee one thing, there won't be no "standing by your man" press conference going on with THIS one.
SMH.............UNBELIEVEABLE!!!!!
