STOP DOMESTIC ABUSE!

This past weekend there were 8(EIGHT) people murdered as a result of domestic violence here in Birmingham. One of those murders almost brought tears to my eyes. I didn't know the victim(s) but the story is so unbelievable that it just blew my mind. A man went to the house of his ex girlfriend and killed her current boyfriend and shot her multiple times in front of her mother. When the mother tried to pull her daughter's body into another room,the man kicked the door down and shot the woman 4-5 more times while she laid there in her mother's arms.
Let that marinate for a minute!
A mother witnesses her daughter getting shot,she tries to save her by pulling her into another room. The gunman then go into that room and shoot the victim again while the mother is holding her. Then this coward goes outside and commits suicide.
So I'm talking to this guy at work about the incident you just read and he starts crying like a baby. I asked did he know the woman. He said,"No,but my sister was shot by HER boyfriend." This man told me his sister was dating a guy who shattered her jaw by hitting her in the face with a HOT iron. After she had surgery on her face, she asked him to go get help. He became so upset,he grabbed his gun and shot her in the chest. She was lucky,she survived. The guy I work with told me his sister STILL refused to give up on that man, even after he shot her. The guy is serving time for attempted murder but I wonder what is it that makes it so hard for women to leave men that physically and even verbally abuse them.
If you know anyone dealing with physical abuse and they can't gather the strength to leave. PLEASE let them hear this video. I've posted it several times but it never gets old.

Seton Hall Honor Student Shot and Killed At Frat Party

My heart aches after reading this story. Over the weekend, 19 year old Jessica Moore was murdered at a fraternity house party near the campus of Seton Hall University.Witnesses say the two cowards.......my bad.......'suspects' were denied entrance to the party by members of the fraternity. The two cowards......my bad......'suspects' became angry and left only to return with guns. The two made their way into the house and started randomly shooting wounding four and killing Jessica. One witness said one the cowards was standing on the back of a girl who was wounded when the fatal shot was fired that killed Jessica. Many of Jessica's friends are calling her a hero for jumping in front of her friend Nakeisha Vanterpool when she saw one of the cowards.......my bad...... 'suspects' pointing his .357 at Vanterpool.
Are things really that bad now? I recall my days at frat house parties and outsiders wouldn't dare try to come up in the house if they weren't cool with someone in the fraternity.
Where does it end with the total disregard for another person's life?
This really breaks my heart!


*UPDATE*
They have arrested two suspects in the case. Hopefully they will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. I tell you one thing, if this was Mekayla (my daughter),there would be no need for a trial. Well maybe MY trial because I would handle these boys with the quickness!

Tavis Smiley & Dr.Cornel West will be hosting a radio show together. Some of you know I'm not the biggest Tavis fan and although I respect Dr.West, his recent comments about the President rubbed me the wrong way. Hopefully this is their way of  coming up with a different strategy than just sitting down and having "Summits" and "Meetings" where so called "black leaders"get together and see who can out wit the other with one liners. I wonder if they will use this format to SUPPORT President Obama instead of insisting he create a "black agenda". By the way,no one has yet to tell me what the heck a "black agenda" is suppose to look like. Not sure about this one but I will take a wait and see attitude. But you best believe I will be calling them out whenever they start with their "crabs in a barrel" mentality they have displayed since the President took office.

Jay-Z.......my bad..........Sean Carter may not be a billionaire just yet but he still graced the cover of Forbes Magazine for their Forbes 400 edition. This edition names the 400 richest people in the world. I salute the rap mogul because many  rappers think it's all about making money and blowing money. They never sit down and come up with a plan to sustain the money that they have made. Republican Candidate Offers Free Wings & A Limo Ride To The Polls

This is one of those stories that has me shaking my head. In Shreveport,Lousiana,Republican mayoral candidate Bryan Wooley is offering black voters chicken wings and a ride to the poll in a limo. SERIOUSLY,I'm not making this up. At first glance the gesture of doing so would appear full of racial stereotypes. But the more I think about it the more I come to the sad realization that it probably will work. I'm willing to bet you money or a six piece wing plate that Mr. Wooley becomes Mayor of Shreveport and I'm willing to bet that he wins the majority of the black vote. This is "rapper" Hurricane Chris performing in front of the Louisiana State Legislature. Unfortunately I couldn't find the beginning of the clip where the representative goes on for 5 minutes about how this guy represents all that is right with the youth of Louisiana. She presents him with a plaque and tells the men in the chambers not to laugh because they too are looking for a "Halle Berry". It's truly one of the most embarassing things I have ever seen.

Green Party Candidate Dies After Being Struck By An SUV

UPPER MARLBORO, Md. — A Green Party candidate running for U.S. Senate in Maryland has died after being hit by an SUV while riding her bike.
Maryland State Police say 30-year-old Natasha Pettigrew died early Tuesday. She was hit by an SUV in Prince George's County early Sunday.
Police say the woman driving the Cadillac Escalade that hit Pettigrew kept driving nearly four miles to her home, even though the bicycle was still lodged underneath the vehicle.
Police say the woman thought she hit a deer or a dog and didn't want to stop in the early morning hours. When she and her husband found the bicycle under the SUV, they called police.

It turns out the woman who said a black woman poured acid on her face lied! Why would she lie about something like that? So that she can be a guest on the Oprah Winfrey Show. For REAL,I wouldn't make this stuff up! Apparently,Oprah folks did what the police wouldn't do.......thoroughly investigate the woman's claims and they were able to find out that her story didn't add up. The woman found out Oprah was going to put her on blast and canceled her appearance. She then confessed to the local police that she made the whole thing up.

This Is Why I Don't Understand Black Republicans

Democrats may not be perfect but there is no way in the world a group of Democrats would ever do THIS. The National Federation of Republican Women held it's annual fall Board of Directors meeting in Charleston,S.C. over the weekend and the theme was "The Southern Experience". They should have called it the "OLD Southern Experience" because that's what the party looked like,The OLD South. Most of the men in attendance were dressed as Confederate soilders like Glenn McConell,(who by the way is the South Carolina Senate President) and the women had on their "Gone With The Wind" dresses.Then there were those who were perfectly happy dressing up like slaves and acting like they were back in the 1800s by singing "old slave songs and carrying on like the house negroes that they are.If the ancestors of the people shown in these pictures knew what their descendants were doing all in an effort to feel accepted by people who think having people of color dressed like house slaves is acceptable,they would turn over in their graves.

And some of you still wonder why I can't stand Black Republicans?

Dress Like A Groupie Then Sue For Sexual Harassment

 Former Miss Spain turned Mexican television news reporter Ines Sainz,pictured above with the EXTREMELY tight jeans on while working,entered the New York Jets locker room and to the surprise of absolutely nobody (except Ms.Sainz) the guys in the locker room made some inappropriate comments towards her and about her. Now she's suing coach Coach Rex Ryan and the Jets for sexual harassment.Ms.Sainz, who is known for dressing the way she is dressed in the above picture said, "I felt uncomfortable and was unable to do my job."
This woman reminds me of the girl who goes to the club half naked, teases a guy all night, goes home with him then act like she didn't think he was going to want sex from her.
GIVE ME A BREAK!
It's obvious this woman is running game and trying to get paid by either catching the eye of a pro athlete or filing a lawsuit like this one. In no way do I condone harassment of any kind,but there is no way in the world a jury should reward this woman a dime.

The SELF-EXPLOITATION Of Black Women

For years we heard how men,BLACK men in particular disrespect and exploit women,especially BLACK women in the music industry. Whether it's hiring women to get nearly naked in a video or having them dance across the stage in outrageous outfits,men-BLACK men have always been blamed. But can we really continue to blame men-BLACK men for the things we're seeing now?
I was watching the VMA's on MTV last night for all of 7 minutes. But unfortunately,it was the first 7 minutes and saw this girl name Nikki Minaj (above) performing with Will.I.Am from the Black Eyed Peas.

This girl Nikki Minaj was going out of her way to show off her.....(ummmm. how can I say this?) Ok,I guess I'll just say it. She was going out of her way to show of her MASSIVE behind. She was bending over and straddling the rail like she was at your local "shoe modeling" establishment. That's a "strip club" for those of you not familiar with.......nevermind.
 Even her back up dancers,singers or whatever you want to call them were climbing all on the light fixtures,all in an effort to show off their back side. This IS America and people are free to do what they want and I'm sure there were thousands of guys glued to the television. But I wonder how many of those guys know or even care that the person they saw last night is as fake as a 3 dollar bill. The above picture shows what Nikki Minaj looked like BEFORE and AFTER she had BOOTY implants. Well, I've read she has booty implants and I've read that she wears booty pads but I'm sure those guys don't care which one it is.
What does that say about us as a society when women are putting silicon in their behinds to make it look bigger? What does it say about us as a society when women are putting "booty pads" in their pants to make their behinds look bigger?
In my opinion,women who do that are no different than the women walking the stroll and turning tricks.Except these women don't have pimps,they're pimping themselves. They are exploiting themselves. All in a chase for the mighty dollar and the limelight.
Do they realize what that silicon will feel like in a couple of years?
Do they know that a man-a REAL man isn't impressed by that?
Do they know the only man they will attract are the men that will value them as an ASSet and not an asset?
Do they even care about the little girls who see them and think that's the best way to get attention?
And PLEASE spare me the "parents should teach them right from wrong argument."
That would happen in a perfect world but we all know this world is far from perfect.There are some girls out there dying to get booty implants so they can become the next Nikki Minaj. Just like Nikki Minaj was dying to become the next Lil Kim.
By the way,have you seen Lil Kim lately? CASE CLOSED!
Sooner or later this exploitation of black women has to stop. But it will never stop until black women stop self exploiting THEMSELVES.

Farewell Dr.Ronald Walters

Dr. Ronald Walters passed away last week at the age of 72. Dr.Walters was the Professor of Emeritus,Government & Politics at the University of Maryland where he chaired the African American Leadership Institute there.Dr.Walters also taught at Howard University and was an expert on Black politics.He wrote the book "Black Presidential Politics In America: A Strategic Approach." I personally haven't read the book but from reading what others have said about the book,one would find it hard to believe that it was written in 1987. Many of the things detailed in that book still holds true today. His commentary and expertise during the mid-term elections will truly be missed.

I'll never forget where I was that Tuesday morning. I still remember it like it was yesterday. So much has happened since that day,the war in Iraq,the war in Afghanistan,the "Fall of Saddam Hussein". By the way,why is it that we can find Saddam Hussein in a hole but can't find Osama Bin Laden in a cave? I have my own personal opinions but today is not the day for that. Today is the day to remember those who lost their lives on that tragic day.

Georgia Mayor Bans Sagging

The town of Dublin, Georgia, is putting saggy, baggy pants in the category of indecent exposure, with violators facing fines of up to $200.

Dublin Mayor Phil Best said he plans to sign this week an amendment to the municipality’s indecent exposure ordinance. The amendment, which Best plans to put into immediate effect at the City Council meeting, prohibits the wearing of pants or skirts “more than three inches below the top of the hips exposing the skin or undergarments.”

I applaud this law,but I'm willing to bet "one of our people" will say it's racist because it will affect mostly black kids. I BETCHA somebody is going to say that.

But there are some people who think the world is coming to an end because of the music that was chosen. Yeah,Babyface "may" seem a tad bit inappropriate for church,HOWEVER,it is really that bad?
I mean,to read some of the things I've read online and on social networks such as Facebook,you would think they were serving alcohol in the back of the sanctuary right after the song ended.
I just don't understand how some people can have such a narrow view of what is and what isn't "appropriate for church". It reminds me of a lady I know that I ran into at a gas station one Sunday on my way to church. She couldn't believe I was wearing jeans,a t-shirt and sneakers to church.
"I just think it's disrespectful to go into the house of the Lord dressed like that."
I just said,"WHATEVER LADY!"
If she only knew how God was moving in and through the lives of the members of the church I attend and the church itself,she would grab a pair of sneakers and join my church.
GOD ain't concerned about what you WEAR to church. CHURCH FOLKS are concerned about what you wear to church. And it's CHURCH FOLKS who are destroying the church with their rules and regulations of what should and should not take place in church.The above video is a prime example. People would rather argue over the song that's being played instead of the couples who are dedicated to making their marriage work.

A group of about 300 men in Detroit formed a group called the "Detroit 300" to encourage people in the community to START snitching. This took place after someone raped and robbed a 90 year old woman........A 90 YEAR OLD WOMAN!!!!!!

Through the efforts of these men,two teenagers were arrested. Snitching and the so called "code of the streets" is destroying our community. The only way to take it back is through prayer and to make it cool to START SNITCHING!!!!!
