I Got Your "Food Stamp President".....Right Here! *makes gesture*

For months, we've had to listen to Newt Gingrich use the race baiting term "Food Stamp President" when addressing President Obama.
It's an old political move that plays on the false stereotypes of black people and black politicians.
You know how they do........
Make racial remarks without actually making racial remarks.

(For the record, to all of you Republicans who sneak in here, read my blog, then go back and discuss what I said on your blog or Facebook page, I would still prefer to be called a nigger than for you to insult my intelligence by saying you're not being racist when you make comments like this.)

Anyway......
I want to show you the perfect way to handle the modern day ku klux klan GOP.

Where's The Outrage Over Roland Martin's Suspension?

*Last week, the Susan G. Komen Foundation announced that they would stop funding Planned Parenthood.
But their donors organized and complained so much that the Foundation reversed their decision.

*Late last week, the Obama administration announced that it would not allow religiously affiliated employers, such as universities and hospitals to deny full birth control coverage to women they employ.
(In other words pay for their contraceptives.)
But the Catholic church (lead by mis-guided bishops) organized and complained so much that now, the President is considering reversing or adjusting that bill.

*During the Super Bowl, Roland Martin sent out this tweet after a commercial aired featuring soccer star David Beckham modeling in his new line of men's underwear.

 If a dude at your Super Bowl party is hyped about David Beckham's H&M underwear ad, smack the ish out of him! #superbowl

 

Afterwards, gay rights groups organized and complained to CNN that Roland's tweet was "insensitive".

Today, Roland Martin was suspended by CNN.

 

My point:

Women (mostly white) will organize and complain to get something they want done.

Religious groups (mostly white) will organize and complain to get something they want done.

Gay and Lesbian groups will organize and complain to get something they want done.

Why is it that black people won't do the same?

 

Can you imagine what would happen if we decided to organize and complain?

Can you imagine the amount of racist rhetoric we could eliminate about our President if we organized and complained to remove certain radio and television personlities?

Can you imagine how much we could change the perception of black people if we organized and complained AND demanded that certain networks stop producing shows that portray our women as golddigging, classless whores?

Can you imagine?

 

Probably not...........

Because while other groups and races are concerned about issues that affect their communities, we're more concerned about issues that affect us individually!

Oh, sure we will organize and complain to get our favorite show back on televsion (see The Game), but we won't organize or complain about anything else.

That may explain why there's no outrage over the suspension of one of the very few voices we have on television-Roland Martin.

 

 

Sunday Praise & Inspiration

It's two o'clock in the morning, I just finished writing, and I still can't go to sleep.
And the reason I can't go to sleep has nothing to do with the thirty minute nap I took earlier that turned into a three hour nap.
No............
It has nothing to do with that.
You see, I just heard a song that sent me into full worship mode, a full eight hours before it's time for me go to church.
You DO know that you don't have to wait until you get to church to worship God.
I mean, you do know that, right?
Anyway, the song I heard was a song that you've probably never heard before, being song by someone that you may or may not have ever heard sing before.
Her name is Candy West!
Candy has an anointing on her life that honestly,  you really have to see and experience in person, to understand it.
Fortunately, I get to see and experience it every Sunday morning.

Jobs Report

As if having Mitt Romney as their potential nominee wasn't bad enough..............

The GOP now has to deal with the fact that their biggest argument, "The Bad Economy" is blowing up in their faces.

Today, the jobs report came out and it stated as follows:
 243,000 jobs were added in January
 Unemployment dropped to 8.3% (the lowest in three years)

I understand there are other factors that go into making these numbers.

But this is the same report that the GOP used, to make their case that the President wasn't creating any jobs.

Well, let's hear what they have to say now.

There's Only ONE King!

You know, I tried, I really tried to stay away from this Eddie Long thing.
Seriously, you don't know how many times I got ready to post a blog and decided to delete it.
I started to post something about the boys he was accused of sleeping with, but I deleted it.
I started to post something about a ceremony I saw online where he made his "spiritual sons" take an oath
of loyalty, but I deleted it.
I started to post something about his wife wanting a divorce,
but I deleted that too.
But when I saw a video of this man being crowned a KING.................
Well, I couldn't bite my tongue any longer.

*long pause*, *deep sigh*
As I've grown closer to God and more confident in my walk with Him, I've become less tolerant of "church".
Not the physical place, but the extra stuff that takes place, that has nothing to do with God.
I love my church, my church family and my pastor.
But I love God more!
And if THIS happened while I was sitting in the congregation,
I wouldn't walk out.......
I would RUN out of my church! 
All of this new age stuff thats taking place in the church.......
Serving.........
Idolizing.......
Worshipping.........and now,
Crowning MEN as Kings has gotten completely out of control!
I understand we should respect and honor our Men of God...........
I understand we should want them to prosper.............,
I understand all of that!
But what I don't understand is how did we get to a point where we allow something like this to take place, and nobody says anything about it?
Sure, the church critics, websites and blogs are going to say something about it.
But I don't pay those clowns any attention!
They're always complaining about something that's going on in the church.
The only religious website or blog that I read or subscribe to is
The Old Black Church (click on the link)
But why aren't people in the Body of Christ speaking out on this?
Why aren't members of New Birth speaking out on this?
Why aren't other Pastors and Bishops speaking out on this?
Oh I forgot, they're not speaking out because they don't want to
"Put their mouth on a Man of God" !
But that's the problem.
That type of passive behavior..........
That type of attitude, is what has allowed this type of foolishness to spread throughout our churches.

People it's time to wake up and stop playing with God !

I bring this up because early this morning, I got a phone call from a friend who was crying her eyes out.
Why?
Because last night, her boyfriend of seven months pulled a Jonathan Plummer.
He told her he was gay and was tired of hiding it.
Her exact comment to me was:
"I don't understand why so many men are suddenly turning gay."
Then she she dropped the, There aren't any good black men left bomb on me.
When she asked me what I thought, my answer stunned her and if she's reading this (which I'm sure she is)
she should pick up the phone and call to tell me I was right.
I told her, the problem isn't the men.
The problem is, some women (including herself) are so desperate to have a man in their lives, that they ignore all of the warning signs.
Just like anyone with two eyes could see that Terry McMillian's ex husband was gay.
Anyone with two eyes could also see that her boyfriend was gay.
Her sister........
Her brother.......
Her dad.......yes,
HER DAD........told her he was gay.
But what did she do?
She told them, "He's not gay, he just has 'feminine ways' because he was raised by a bunch of women."

I was raised by a bunch of women and I'm straighter than a line on the street!
That has nothing to do with ANYTHING!
The main reason she didn't see the warning signs is because one of her 2011 New Year's Resolutions was to "find a husband" (let that marinate).

But......that's where so many women go wrong.
They try to "find a husband" instead of letting their husband "find them".
That's biblical, and even if you don't believe in the bible, it's also common sense!
Ladies, please stop ignoring all the warning signs!
If his eyebrows are arched........
If he spends more time in the mirror than you do........
If his hair looks better than yours.......
If he can do your hair better than you can..........
Chances are........
HE'S GAY!
And to all of the men who are gay, but still sleeping with women,
YOU ARE A COWARD!
And will be exposed!
Be who you are and stop messing up other people's lives!

Another Civil Rights Icon, Colonel Stone Johnson Has Passed

A few months ago we lost Rev.Fred Shuttlesworth.
Last week, we lost his right hand man, Colonel Stone Johnson.
Rev. Shuttlesworth was the pastor of Bethel Baptist Church here in Birmingham, in a community called Collegeville.
In the mid 50s, (before Dr. King joined The Movement), blacks used to gather at Bethel Baptist to organize and plot strategies to fight segregation.
Once the Klan found out about it, they started bombing Rev. Shuttlesworth's home.
When that didn't intimidate or stop Rev. Shuttlesworth, they started bombing Bethel (the church).

In 1956, the klan, who based their racial hatred on Christian beliefs, bombed Bethel Baptist....... on CHRISTMAS EVE!

The next time a Republican (or anyone else) try to tell you that Islam is a religion that advocates terrorism, please let them know that the greatest terrorists to ever walk the face of the earth were Christians, the KKK.
And before you start sending me hate mail, I'm a Christian too.....but the truth is the truth.

I had the honor and privilege of having a few conversations with the Colonel and I can tell you, he was the sharpest and most alert ninety something year old man you'll ever meet.
And he still looked like someone you didn't want to mess with.
I remember one day, I saw him at Mr. Percy Hornbuckle's (another Civil Rights Icon) barbershop and some young guy was leaning on the Colonel's Lincoln Towncar.
Let's just say, the Colonel said something to the young man and the young man stopped leaning on his Towncar! lol
The Colonel, just like the man he served as a bodyguard to, has left the city of Birmingham with a spirit and boldness that I pray I'm able to carry on and pass down to my son's generation.

R.I.P. Colonel Johnson!

Are We REALLY Honoring Dr. King's Legacy?

It's all around us-the disrespect of Dr. King's legacy.
And NO I'm not talking about the fact that the GOP chose to have their debate in SOUTH CAROLINA on his birthday.
And I'm not talking about the fact that those same GOP presidential candidates sat quietly while Newt Gingrich made some of the most disrespectful and vile comments about black people that I've ever heard.

No, I'm not talking about the disrespect that comes from the outside.
I'm talking about the disrespect from within.

Our community is in the shape it's in right now, because of this mentality.
Some of you may say this is an isolated incident, but it's not.
I've seen several promotions (locally) over the last few years of people promoting parties to "honor" Dr.King.
And you know what?
People attended those parties and didn't think twice about it.
As a whole, I believe we really have no respect or honor for the man and what he stood for.
Sure, we all celebrate and go through the motions by singing
"We Shall Overcome" and making our children learn and recite the "I Have A Dream" speech.
But do we really respect Dr. King's legacy?
Are we really living up to it as a people?

In a day and time of high priced media prostitutes reality stars, it's refreshing to know that we can look to the Oval office and see how a Real black woman is suppose to carry herself.

I've said it before and I'll say it again-if we didn't have a Michelle Obama, we wouldn't have a President Barack Obama.

How many women do you know will stay with a man who is so broke, that he has to move his family in with HER parents?

How many women do you know will stay with a man when she's making close to 200k/year and he's barely making 50k/yr?

How many women do you know will keep herself looking THIS good for her husband after 20 years of marriage?

Top Athlete's Mom Embarassing Act

As some of you may know, I'm one of the biggest, most obnoxious Alabama football fans around. But if my son decided he wanted to play ball at Auburn (Bama's most hated rival), I would IMMEDIATELY become one of the biggest and most obnoxious Auburn fans around.
Why?
Because the love and support of my son, far outweighs the love I have for Alabama football.
With that being said, I want you to check out this video and tell me what you think.
Let me set it up for you.
The young man in the video is Landon Collins, the top high school safety in the country.
He's about to announce where he will play his college ball.
His top two choices are Alabama and LSU.
The young lady sitting next to him is his mother, who let's just say, wasn't too happy about his decision.

I don't know about you, but I thought the way she behaved was immature and irresponsible.
It wasn't bad enough that she was chewing and popping gum on national tv, but to publicly embarass her son like that was truly uncalled for.
If she disagreed with his decision, don't you think she should have waited and discussed the matter in private?
This young man already had the weight of the world on him and for her to carry on like a 12 year old, "popping gum, shaking her head, waving the other team's gloves, is not only embarassing, but downright disrespectful.

As an Alabama fan, I would love to see this young man wearing Crimson. But as someone who has coached youth sports in the past, I would prefer him to go to LSU. Because it's obvious he won't have support from the one person he needs it the most-his MAMA!
And if the parent of an athlete isn't happy, nobody will be happy-especially the athlete.
What an embarassing act by this top athlete's mom!

That's one of my objectives, and this is one of those stories.
Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. and Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc, has united to form a super PAC to support the re-election of President Barack Obama.
A super PAC (Political Action Committee), is responsible for most of the grassroots efforts of a campaign.
Whether it's registering people to vote or paying for commercial spots in key battleground states, super PACS play a vital role in a candidate's campaign.
And with the amped up, over the top, radical, right wing racist rhetoric that's being aimed at him, the President really needs the support of his base, his people and his family, NOW- more than ever.
With this PAC, volunteers will be able to mobilize and energize a block of voters who, quite honestly, may have forgetten what it takes to win an election.

The Iowa Caucus Is Tonight

The first true test of the modern day KKK  republican party is upon us.

It's the day of the Iowa Caucus.

Today in that crazy great state of Iowa, one of these "great Americans" will emerge as the front runner to take on President Barack Obama later this year.

In any normal election year, John Huntsman (not pictured) would be the perfect candidate. He's what conservatives used to call a "Ronald Reagan Conservative."

But this isn't a normal year and this isn't a normal election.

This election is about one thing and one thing only:
The Intense Hatred of Barack Obama!
How else could you explain how an extreme racist (Ron Paul), a habitual liar and "moderate" racist (Newt Gingrinch) and a flip flopping, spineless, goofball (Mitt Romney) are the front runners?

As you watch this play out on television tonight, ask yourself, which one of these bafoons  candidates would you want to be your President.

Then ask yourself, can you afford not to get involved in the political process this year.

Regardless if you agree or disagree with all of the President's policies, you have to know that either one of these people are ten times worst than President Obama could be on his worse day.

It's time to get involved!
It's time to get active!
It's time to get fired and ready to go (again)!

Get Healthy In 2012

Well, it's that time of year again; the time of year when everyone makes their New Year's resolutions.
One of the most popular resolutions that people make involves getting in shape.
Every year, people say the same thing.
And every year, they do the same thing-procrastinate or quit!
Oh, they'll go to the gym the first couple of weeks, but then the excuses start coming.

"I don't have the time."
"I work too many hours."
"It's too crowded in the gym."

Come on people!
It's time out for the excuses!
Last year we lost some of our most beloved celebrities due to health related issues.
That should be a wake up call that it's time to get it together!
Many people will try to get it together by using certain gimmicks like weight watchers, Jenny Craig, the (whatever you call that thing you put around your waist to burn off the fat), and all of that other stuff.
Yes, in my opinion, those are gimmicks! Because while you will lose the weight, you're not getting healthier.
You're not doing any cardio which puts you at risk for high blood pressure, stroke or even a heart attack.

I challenge you to leave all of those gimmicks in 2011 and get with the new program.

If you can't make it to a gym or don't have enough time,invest in a PX-90 or Insanity workout dvd.
(Insanity is a BEAST!)
You can do those things in the comfort of your own home at your own pace.
If you need someone to motivate you, find a partner and start running (not walking-RUNNING).
Take up a hobby like kickboxing or biking.
Try Zumba! Everybody and they mama's mama is trying Zumba! (broken english)
I don't care what you do, but please do something!

Losing weight isn't just about looking good and feeling good.
It's about being healthy and having a healthier lifestyle!

A Heartbreaking Example of True Love

I'm sure by now you've seen this video or heard this story.
If you haven't, go get some tissue.
If you have, go get some tissue, because this is one of the more touching stories that I've ever seen.
This isn't a music video or a trailer for an upcoming movie.
The bride and groom aren't actors. They're real people and this is a video of their wedding day.
This is the wedding video of former NFL player Chris Draft and his lovely bride.

I get chills everytime I watch it!
Unfortunately, this week the bride lost her battle with lung cancer.
Their story is a heartbreaking example of what true love really is.
It shows a man dedicated to his woman, regardless of her physical appearance.
(By the way, I find absolutely nothing wrong with her physical appearance.)
She is beautiful!
My favorite part of the video is at the end when the bride is dancing with her father.
Can you imagine the joy in his heart on that beautiful day?
Can you imagine the pain in his heart on this day?
I can't imagine either.
Their story should give hope to all who thought true love either didn't exist or was impossible for them to find.
It should also dispel the myth that there aren't any good black men left.

Please join me in lifting Chris Draft and his family up in prayer.
Real love still wins!

Some Kids Are Better Off Without Their Parents

A 21 year old Chicago boy man is facing abuse charges after posting this photo of his one year old daughter on his Facebook page.

*NO THIS IS NOT PHOTOSHOPPED*
I really don't know what to say about this one........I really don't.

The sad part about it is, he's only facing abuse charges.

In my opinion, this demon young man should never be able to see this baby again.

Yes, I know he's the father.

Yes, I know there's a shortage of fathers present in the black community.

But I would much rather see this baby grow up without a father present in her life, than to have this mofo poor excuse of a father spend one more day with her.

If he's capable of doing this and publicly posting it on Facebook, there's no telling what he's capable of doing to this baby in private.

Some kids really are  better off without their parents!

Another Senseless Murder

In probably the most senseless murder I can recall, an Atlanta rapper named Slim Dunkin was killed this past weekend over a piece of candy.

No, I'm NOT lying!

I know this may sound a bit extreme, but if a judge were to give this man's killer the death penalty, I wouldn't lose any sleep over it. At some point, someone has to make an example out of these people to let them know that these types of senseless murders won't be tolerated in our society.

Jules Manson Should Be Arrested

For almost two years I've been saying that the tea party platform and objections to the President has nothing to do with policy, taxes or any of that other stuff they claim.
It has to do with one thing and one thing only; HIS SKIN COLOR!
His skin color caused people to gather at those klan rallies town hall meetings in the summer of 2009.
It causes them to put pressure on lawmakers to block simple bills such as the payroll tax extention.
And it also causes them to feel comfortable in making such statements like the one Jules Manson, a California tea party politician (and huge supporter of Ron Paul) made.

Don't get fooled into thinking Ron Paul is this naive old man making funny comments at a GOP debate.
Ron Paul (and his son Rand Paul) are some of the most extreme racists you'll ever meet.
(More on Ron Paul at a later date).

Jules Manson recently posted this comment on his facebook page when discussing the President and his policies:
He said the best way to stop the POTUS from "destroying this country" is to:
"Assassinate the fucken nigger and his monkey children."
I'm NOT lying!

I'm all for freedom of speech but the call to assassinate the POTUS and murder his children has nothing to do with the First Amendment. I guarantee you that these same "law abiding, great American citizens" would have been screaming bloody murder (and rightfully so) if someone would have said the same thing about the previous President and his family.

It's time for the secret service to start doing their jobs. It's time to start arresting people like Jules Manson!
